FUIS are deeply saddened by the news of Jim Parker’s passing, the founder of the Public Lending Right International (PLRI). He was such a key figure in the industry and, for many years, always on the side of the authors and a strong supporter of the recognition and protection of their rights. His many achievements and his contribution to the complex and layered world of authors’ rights has touched many lives and made such a difference to the creative sector. He was a unique person, kind, generous, one of a kind. He has left a big hole, which will be hard to fill. Our thoughts are with his family and the many collleagues across the world who will mourn his loss.

E’ stato una figura chiave nel campo e, per tanti anni, sempre dalla parte degli autori e un forte sostenitore del riconoscimento e la protezione dei loro diritti. I suoi innumerevoli successi e il suo contributo al complesso e stratificato mondo del diritto d’autore ha coinvolto tante persone e fatto la differenza nel settore creativo. Era una persona unica, gentile, generosa e fuori dal comune. Lascia un grande vuoto, che sarà difficile da colmare.
